the vs angels got their wings back!
They’re baaack!! Icons, angels and models made their runway return in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show– the first since 2018. And I had a hand in producing it!
Did you notice the representation of more body shapes, the inclusion of older models like 56-year-old Carla Bruni and trans model Valentina Sampaio?! Ashley Graham, Devyn Garcia and Paloma Elsesser walked the show and I loved to see models that look more like me– curve queens!
Lisa’s grand entrance was the stuff of action movies. SO BAD ASS!!
Gigi Hadid STUNNED with her very realistic pink wings made up of (real?) feathers. *gasp*
Some OG models made it back home including Tyra Banks who brought her smize back (side note: Did you know she has her own ice cream shop called SMiZE & DREAM?!), Adriana Lima and her bestie Alessandra Ambrosio who all radiated good energy on the runway. I ran into Candice Swanepoel outside and was really struck by how naturally beautiful she is in person and don’t get me started on how physically fit she is. BOMBSHELL!
The show featured five themed runways. The Modern Heritage looks were mostly pretty and lacy, Twinkle was full of dreamy sparkly sets, Heroes gave rock goddesses, Atelier was sexy and romantic and Unwrap the Magic was what seemed like a red holiday sneak-peek. Let’s talk about the performances. Cher was ICONIC. Let’s go back to Cher…I always say “age ain’t nothing but a number” and she proves my point. The icon is 78 and she’s still performing and looking damn good while doing it.
Orianthi was LEGENDARY. Tyla was THE MOMENT. She served face, body and this strut! Just make her a VS Angel already.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the PINK? so…much…PINK! The carpet, the Empire State Building, the bleachers, the screens! (A gentle reminder to check your titties during Breast Cancer Awareness Month ladies).
