“friend” the future is here and it is not ok…or we are all getting punked

A new commercial has been getting a lot of attention. It’s for an AI device that people wear around their necks. It is always listening, so it can send you texts, and, well, be your “friend.” I can’t figure out if it is an insanely odd new product or a brilliant fake campaign for “Black Mirror.” Either way, the ad is freaking me out.

If this is real, we need to worry about how out of touch we are as humans. Are people so lonely they need a text from a fake friend who seems to be spying on them? There is a site that was launched, and it looks like you can pre-order it if you are in the USA or Canada.

According to the website the product will be shipped in January 2025. The Reddit masses are reporting that it is real, and the AI chat bot necklace has funding.

But just because someone says something on the internet and others repeat it does not make it true. Journalism amiright.? Anywho, I am sure we will find out in the next few days if it is real, and if it is, I am seriously concerned about all of us.

Or, third option: it’s just a dumb idea that got funding.
